Safford Revival

We just finished revival services this week in Safford, Az. The church is Pastored by Tommy and Clara Seals. It was a wonderful priviledge to get to know them as we have only been able to say hi at conferences over the years. Tommy is a Vietnam Veteran with a wonderful story of salvation and God's healing power due to exposure to Agent Orange as he was a Navy Corpsman serving during a time of combat. The Safford church was pioneered in 1980 by Les and Sally Uptain. One of the great testimonies of this church bears out during a conversation I had with Chad Dale a long time member of the Safford church. He related to me how they had saved most of the convert cards from the beginning of the church in 1980. One day he totaled them up and found that over 7000 decisions have been made in that church oner 25 years. He also told me that number equalled approximately 1/2 the population of that city! I understand there were some repeat cards in there and people have moved in and out of the city, but this is still a great testimony of the power and impact a local church can have.
Our revival actually began Saturday Night with the music group Broken Wing doing the whole music scene. Many were touched and saved by the powerful testimonies and the annointed musical performance of this group. Many who came to the music scene wound up coming to the revival and being further touched by God. We had visitors every service with some of them saved and many healed. Pray for the Seals as they recently launched out a couple into Cedar City, Utah. The Safford church has been hit like many others due to the economy, but the mines are now hiring back and there is a "fresh wind" blowing in their church.
